ALBUM RECCOMENDATION 1

ALL TOGETHER NOW - CHANCE DE LA SOUL

GENRE(S) - FUTURE FUNK, PLUNDERPHONICS

This album is a HUGE inspiration to me. It's directly inspried by The Avalanches' "Since I Left You", which is a 10/10 album for me. It's incredibly groovy and has amazing sample flips. Some of my favorite samples are the samples of "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" by Barbara Mason and "Soultrippin'" by Delegation. They both appear on my personal favorite song of the album, "You Will Be There". Overall, an amazing 8/10, possible 9/10 album to me.

ALBUM RECCOMENDATION 2

I'LL TRY LIVING LIKE THIS - DEATH'S DYNAMIC SHROUD

GENRE(S) - VAPORWAVE, PLUNDERPHONICS

Another pretty inspiring album to me. I think it's really crazy in regards to sample flipping. I can name so many samples off the top of my head that are flipped in insane and scarily twisted ways that I adore on this album. Let me go through a couple.

Track 1's sample of "Gonna Get Your Heart" by AOA. One of the most iconic flips in vaporwave history imo.

Track 2's interpolation of "PONPONPON" by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Turning vocals from a really popular J-POP song and using Hatsune Miku to make them scary is fucking insane man.

Track 4's sample of "Miniskirt" by AOA. I utterly love this sample becuase of the fact it's so obviously fucked from how it was originally. But while you can tell it used to be different and happier, you don't exactly know what it was before. Giving an uneasy feeling that really helps the song.

Track 11's sample of "Short Hair" by AOA. It's a really novel idea to slow and pitch down a popular kpop song. Then to chop it up into catchy and repetitive loops that build a rich slightly unsettling atmospehre. God it's amazing.

Finally, Track 12's sample of "Radical City: Living In The City" by The Sega Sound Team and Richard Jacques. God this is the best way to end the album. It feels so nostalgic and the beginning feels very dreadful but eventually the song gets more hopeful with the introduction of new samples. It is amazing,
